It’s September 9th. Protests are starting at various points on the globe today and moving straight through to September 11th. It should be a happier world than it is, but again and again we are reminded that the innocence is gone — by Islamists, Anarchists, Russians and other pains in the ass.
I updated another article with a podcast a few days ago but neglected to announce it on a podcast Sunday. It’s not showing up in the sidebar player due to some sort of RSS bug, so I’ll mention it again for those that may have missed it.

Here’s a question for you all to ponder: Is the black dye-job to Osama bin Laden’s beard itself a signal to Al Qaeda agents to initiate planned attacks?

Here is an open thread for the Labor Day weekend. And as promised, I have posted a new podcast.
I’m still refining the podcast elements and things are improving. My new microphone is working exceptionally well, but I still need to get used to recording techniques when adapting something I’ve written to the spoken word. All in good time.
This latest podcast is My Reaction to ‘Our Children’s Children’s War’, an editorial I wrote almost 6 months ago after viewing the Tep Koppel television special on the Discovery Channel.

It seems that I’ve built-up the Anvil to the point that I can hardly think of anything else to add to it, so now I’m busy refining it. In the past 48 hours I made many cleanups to code, the sidebar, links and fonts, as well as adding a nice statistics display and overhauling the Archives.
In fact, if you click on the Archives right now, you can see what I’m writing about for yourself. Older articles should now be much easier to browse through and locate thanks mainly to a terrific plugin called SRG Clean Archives.

It’s the 1930’s all over again, folks, and Foehammer’s Anvil is On the Air!
In line with my passion for history and my awareness of how applicable our lessons from WW II are to our struggle today, I decided to dip once more into the vintage war posters and find just the right fit for the new Foehammer Podcast, especially to represent my feed over on iTunes:

That’s right: the new Foehammer’s Anvil podcast is now available on the world’s most popular mp3 download site, Apple’s iTunes! I just received verification an hour ago and I’ve checked the feed and updated the sidebar. iTune users just have to click on the iTunes button in the Anvil sidebar on the right or click here, and you will automatically be taken to the iTunes page.
I’m considering making Sundays a traditional day for an ‘open thread’ on the Anvil. In addition to that, I have the urge to also make each Sunday a day when I publish a new podcast of some sort, be it an interview or an editorial. This way I get to enjoy some sunshine and get away from my desk at least one day a week, yet at the same time “deliver the goods” seven days a week.
Well, here it is: the First Official Foehammer Podcast!
I recorded and mixed one of the most popular articles on the Anvil today as a podcast, Don’t tell me to accept Islam, and added it to the sidebar podcast player. You will be able to find a podcast player embedded into all articles in the Podcasts category in the archives, though I will soon also add Podcasts to the main sidebar menu as its own section.
Please note that due to a technicality, embedded players will not show up on single post/comments pages yet, but I’m working on finding a fix.
In addition to all this, there is a new RSS Podcast feed that you may choose to subscribe to. Any future podcasts that I make will automatically appear in that syndicated feed. What could be simpler?
