Are Jews, Christians killing people in the name of their religion? No. But you the anti Christian fascist which is far worse than the Jew fascist are willing to smear all other religions for islam. You are a piece of shit, can I say that foe? Ok you are again a piece of shit that apologizes for the islamofascists I say send you off to live with your islamist buddies asap. You want to know why we are in Iraq? Because we are going to swing south and take iran that’s why! And guess what islamist, we aren’t stopping for shit and we look forward to ramming your head into the bulkhead as soon as you show even a small desire to hurt us.

About 10 days ago that comment was made by a regular Anvil reader. I have quite intentionally chosen not to clean it up. I didn’t edit or delete it in the comments threads 10 days ago either, but I did ask politely at the time for the commenter in question to “take it back maybe a couple of notches”, and that was that: “Still, let’s try to be civil.”

The reaction I got to my reply was not what I was expecting; namely vexed anger and platitudes that were not at all justified. That overreaction stuck in the back of my mind all this time, so this morning I’m going to address what was wrong with this particular comment and put things on the shelf, so to speak.

It’s quite simple really. Personal attacks are usually over the line here. I make every attempt to frame my rebuttals to even the worst trolls as politely as I may and failing that I will just ban the offender. I always refrain from cussing like a sailor in my postings because that serves no purpose other than to make me look like a ranting fool, and that’s another thing wrong with that comment. I do not condone hatred on this site! I may be far more lenient than most bloggers in the anti-jihad circles because I’m one of the most inflammatory and politically incorrect around, but I can not possibly maintain any sort of legitimacy if I allow the comments here to devolve into a shouting match with blue words flying.

The Enemy is Islam — the political ideology of Islam. If you must hate something, then hate that. But individual Muslims I do not hate until they prove themselves willing to kill or maim innocent people. That I hate and despise, as any reasonable person should. But please understand that many Muslims are trapped inside the lie of Islam, and if they were ever given an Exit, they would take it. I have read enough materials on Islamic apostasy to know that.

I hope I’ve made myself clear enough here. Get angry, yes, by all means. But when angry, focus on the facts and do not simmer in the froth of hate and start lashing out wildly. I get attacked quite regularly here (and even elsewhere on the Net) by self-righteous, blind and often false “do-gooders” that think peace is won by doing nothing. I certainly do not want to ever give them some false hope that their libel is actually accurate. I hope my readers do not either.
