Judge orders Muslim woman jailed for wearing hijab

USA Today reports and so it goes…

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution says a Muslim woman was cited for contempt of court yesterday because she refused to remove her hijab, a head covering that she wears for religious reasons.

The paper says Lisa Valentine, 40, was arrested on charges of violating a policy that bars headcoverings inside the Douglasville, Ga., courthouse. A judge ordered her to spend 10 days in jail, but the paper says she was released a few hours later.Boston Mosque Distress

Open Thread: Merry Christmas

Yes, Merry Christmas, not Happy Holidays. It still means “good tidings and joy” no matter what religion you cater to, so that’s how I type it today. Merry, merry Christmas!

I’m reminded today to look at things through the rose-tinted lens for a change. Things could be better for any of us; who’s ever completely satisfied, but this is no reason to grumble. God knows the state of the world could be better, but we do what we can to improve that, too. So, be happy this week. Enjoy the time with your friends and family and if for some reason you can’t be with any of those, then enjoy the time with your own happy memories and that will sustain you.

Peace.

The Wise No Longer Lead

I have had plenty of painful hours to contemplate the state of the West these past few days. The shock of the realization that our own Congress and President are handing this nation over to illegals and Muslims has started to wash away this morning, enough for me to type this brief collection of my thoughts.

Opus Pocus: Now you see a comic strip, now you don’t — thanks to Islam

Hamas KindergartenWell, here we go again. This time it’s cartoonist Berkeley Breathed of Bloom County and Opus fame that is feeling the pinch of Dhimmi American media and the ongoing tug-of-war with Muslim “sensitivities.” It seems that the latest (August 26th) and upcoming (September 2nd) Opus comic strips are just too hot for quite a few (c. 25) American newspapers to publish. What’s the problem? Surely the ‘Religion of Peace and Nature’ isn’t going to stir up a ruckus over a cartoon?

:sarcasm2:

You can view the August 26th Opus comic for yourself here.

Islam: What the West Needs to Know

A World Civilisation or a Clash of Civilisations? (video)Once again; it’s movie-time. Infidel Pride pointed me to YouTube via a comment, and I again have gathered another important documentary for your convenience. Links will most likely not last, so if you haven’t yet seen this special presentation, watch it as soon as possible. And bring a friend or two, especially the kind that argue with you when it comes to Islam ‘the Religion of Peace and Nature’.

The Real Truth About the Cult of Islam

This question has long needed clear examination: “Is Islam a religion or a cult?”

Well, the apostates from Islam at ApostatesofIslam.com do an excellent job of giving you an answer in the following video:

exmuslim879 stated this in preface to the video; it makes sense to me:

U.S. Military Review of Islam in 1946

I have read this material before, but Marc Schulman of The Moderate Voice has introduced it again, so I was prompted to host the 1946 U.S. Military Review directly here on the Anvil as a result. What follows Schulman’s introduction should be required reading:

23 years before the Iranian Revolution and 55 years before the 9/11 terrorist attacks, a section (pages 24-34) of the very first of the intelligence reviews published by the Military Intelligence Division of the U.S. War Department identified Islam as a threat to world stability. It would be interesting to know how many of the higher-ups in our intelligence agencies and Defense Department were even aware of this report when the hijacked planes slammed into the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and the Pennsylvania ground.

Anvil Spotlight: Project Samson

Uncle SamThe following work was sent to me by a regular here at the Anvil, and I feel that it contains such powerful and concise information that it deserves broader recognition. It should prove useful, especially to those that are relatively new to the entire ‘problem’ of Islam. Beyond that, it is an outline for anti-Dhimmitude, meaning basically, how not to give in to Islamist machinations and how to peacefully combat the ideology and psychological warfare that is focused on Islamizing the world, militarily defeat it, and when the time comes, wage partisan actions in various forms (i.e. Internet Anti-Jihad).

American-born Muslim convert pleads for help in Omani custody case

This is a classic case of what happens when an American woman marries a foreign Muslim man and converts to Islam (hat-tip: A_Plague_on_Both Houses). I’m afraid I have no sympathy at all for this woman. To me she is a traitor to her culture first, a traitor to her country second, and a traitor to her children third. To not see something like this coming is just to be ignorant of the religion she adopted as her own, and yet from her pain I can now at least alert would-be converts who might seek the same path — to think twice.

This story also hits close to home because I have at least one woman in my high school graduating class that went on to make the same choices. Hopefully she hasn’t lost her own children yet, but if she ever did I wouldn’t be any more surprised or compassionate.

American Muslim losing children to Omani ex-husband

You see, this is a complex issue. Am I to want this convert to Islam to bring Muslims back to the United States, even her own children? Stay in Oman. Deal with the religion you have made your own and do not seek help from Americans. Your right to seek such aid died the day you converted to Islam.

Think me harsh? Then I’ll just remind you: we are at war with Islam. Damn right I’m harsh.

As this article goes into my Archives, I hope my harshness today saves some other American women tomorrow from making these same choices. Marry a nice American boy and stay in the country. And forget about Islam. Please.

From STLtoday:

A woman who grew up in Hazelwood says she faces deportation from Oman without her three children because of conflicts with her Omani-born ex-husband.

Khadijah Heather Jones said in a telephone interview this week that a divorce from her husband has led to an order forcing her to leave the country by June 1.

Jones converted to Islam in college. She has lived in the Middle Eastern country since 1993, shortly before she married Jamal Mohammed Al Balushi, a former student at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.

The couple have three children, ages 5 to 12, who were born in Oman. Jones said she is being forced to the leave the country without them.

Jones’ St. Louis-area family has asked U.S. Sen. Claire McCaskill, D-Mo., to plead her case to the government of Oman.

“I need somebody to be a hero for my kids,” Jones said. “I just have faith that the American government can do more than give me a list of lawyers’ names.”

Jones said she received such a list from the American Embassy in Muscat, Oman’s capital, as well as a promise to speak on her behalf to the Omani government.

Oman, an oil kingdom ruled by a sultan, is on the eastern point of the Arabian peninsula. Jones and the children live in Muscat, on the coast. She said she has custody of the children now, but the court set a rehearing on her husband’s petition to obtain custody on June 6 — after she would have been flown out of the country.

“I’m worried I’ll never see my kids again,” she said. “There’s a rule in Oman that, if you supposedly abandoned the children, you can never claim them again. If I am deported, I couldn’t get back here.”

Maria Speiser, a spokeswoman for McCaskill, said the senator sent a letter last week to the American Embassy in Muscat “asking for close consideration of this case.”

Jones’ parents, Greg and Cyndi Jones of Hazelwood, also have contacted the State Department, other elected officials, the White House and the Omani Embassy in Washington.

“I don’t know what else we can do,” Cyndi Jones said.

A spokesman at the Omani Embassy could not be reached. A spokesman for the State Department said Thursday that the American government “is limited in the assistance it can provide” in cases such as Jones’.

“American citizens residing overseas are subject to the laws of the country in which they are in residence,” said Edgar Vasquez, a department spokesman in Washington. “Embassy officials can provide general information pertaining to a country’s legal system and provide a list of foreign attorneys.

“But beyond that –, ” Vasquez said, not completing his sentence.

Heather Jones graduated from Hazelwood West High School in 1988 and graduated from Southwest Missouri State University, now Missouri State, with degrees in criminal justice and psychology. She said she converted from Catholicism to Islam and took the first name Khadijah when she was 18.

She said she met her future husband in early 1993 while she was teaching in Oman, saw him again in Little Rock later that year and returned to Oman to marry him in December 1993. She said she has lived there since and, until May 13, worked with him at a telecommunications company.

Their children are sons Zakaria, 12, and Yusef, 5, and daughter Amani, 9. Jones said she brought them to St. Louis for an extended visit in 2005, and that the troubles began when she returned with them to Oman that summer. She said her husband met her with a suit for divorce.

She said she has been forced to resign from work. Her expected deportation date is June 1 because that is when her employment, and thus her work visa, formally ends.

She said she and the children are living with friends.

“We are in a desperate situation,” Jones said.

You were in a “desperate situation” the day you converted to Islam, Ms. Jones.

Islamic Glacier Movement: New York City

“Being that we are a public school, we certainly are not going to be teaching religion,” said Almontaser, 39. “Islam does not have a culture. Islam is a religion.” She said the school won’t shy away from sensitive topics such as colonialism and the Israeli-Palestinian crisis. “Teachers are going to be expected to provide students with multiple perspectives on whatever the issue is,” Almontaser said. “Students will, through the critical-thinking skills that they will develop, make informed decisions on the perspective that they want to believe.”

Australian Journalist Reveals Anti-Jihad Blogger’s Identity to Muslim Community

I’ve never met the man behind SHEIK YER’MAMI face-to-face, but he’s a compatriot of mine from the Jihad Watch comments forums which have given rise to many would-be defenders of Western Civilization in recent years, myself included. So, when the Sheik informed me that he’d been outed from behind his pseudonym by a deceitful Australian journalist, I took notice. After all, I myself maintain my anonymity as a closely-guarded secret because I’m all-too-aware that defying so many Islamic cultists can have tragic consequences. One might hope that followers of the Religion of Peace® might let me live for ridiculing their ‘Prophet’ and stomping on the Qur’an, but alas, this is not the case.

And reporter Gavin King of the Cairns Post can not pretend to not understand this dire point or he might as well turn in his Press Pass today.

Sheik Yer’Mami provided me with the following email he received from Mr. King, which is the only reason he agreed to an interview in the first place:

Hi there, we’re interested in writing a story about your website and the
proposal to build a mosque in Cairns.
Can you please contact me with a phone number to discuss. Your name can
remain anonymous in the article if this suits.
Cheers, Gavin.

“Your name can remain anonymous in the article if this suits.” So much for that promise. This turns out to be nothing short of a journalistic hit-job.

Cairns Post article on blogger Sheik Yer'Mami

If you read through the type in the scanned newspaper article above, you will clearly see that Gavin King names Sheik Yer’Mami, attempts to paint him as some hysterical inciter of violence against Muslims and then continues merrily on, all the while having put this blogger’s life and the lives of those close to him in jeopardy.

And so I blog on this today.

I contacted Mr. King two times via email and gave him a window of four days to respond with no result. I am now going to assume that silence is an admission of his guilt in outing Sheik Yer’Mami. I find this act reprehensible, traitorous, dhimmi and any number of other adjectives I’ll choose not to type publicly.

Gavin King - dhimmi Australian reporter
Gavin King

Gavin King — you and others like you are worse enemies to your own Western nations than the Islamists. You are cowards, liars and opportunists. I’m calling you out. I want the entire Blogosphere to make an example out of you, self-righteous betrayer.

So, I’m going to politely ask readers to click on that Digg button on the bottom of this article. Get the word out. Make some noise. Because if we allow the Press of any Western nation to operate without consequence for being dhimmified, then we do nothing less than invite our own doom and the hurts upon our own loved ones. And all because some people have the courage to stand up and yell the truth when 9/10ths of the planet buries its collective head in sand.

Email Gavin King: kingga@tcp.newsltd.com.au
Tell the rat-fink your opinion.

And finally, I invite Gavin King to come here to the Anvil and explain his position, if he can. But don’t expect a polite reception.

UPDATE: Many commentators on this story are seeking other email contacts for the Cairns Post, such as the editor. I’m seeking these out and will publish them here as I find them. For now, here’s a very ironic email address plus snail-mail address and Australian phone number for you to hound, along with the statements surrounding it stripped directly from the Privacy Policy page of the newspaper:

I have not been successful in a search for a direct email to the Cairns Post editor(s), but here is a link to their contacts page.

UPDATE: Sheik Yer’Mami has sent along a new email that just might lead to the editor of the Cairns Post: letters@tcp.com.au — Letters to the Editor.
