Jammeh Calls for Islamic Solidarity while blaming the West

From allAfrica.com with some spelling edits by me for good measure and better English:

As Muslims all over the world celebrate Eid-ul-fitr, commonly known as Koriteh, which marks the end of the month of Ramadan, President Yahya Jammeh, has called on the Islamic Ummah to be steadfast, bold and united in the spirit of Islam to condemn any form of attack on the Islamic religion.

Europe and the West in Denial

The Little Mermaid in burqaToday I present an article from author Melanie Phillips which was recently published by National Review (hat-tip: Gramfan). This is important reading, so I am cross-posting it in full. I encourage you to read it all, especially if you live in Europe or have any compassion for the plight of Europeans at all. In my view the very same things discussed by Phillips apply to Australia and the United States and Canada, too, but just to a lesser extent because of our relative isolation from the immediate threat from Islamism for now. I have taken the liberty of adding emphasis to items that I believe to be of particular importance.

Terror Threat Inside U.S. Said Serious

Jihad 2007From the AP:

The terrorist network Al-Qaida will likely leverage its contacts and capabilities in Iraq to mount an attack on U.S. soil, according to a new National Intelligence Estimate on threats to the American homeland.

The declassified key findings, to be released publicly on Tuesday, were obtained in advance by The Associated Press.

The report lays out a range of dangers—from al-Qaida to Lebanese Hezbollah to non-Muslim radical groups—that pose a “persistent and evolving threat” to the country over the next three years. As expected, however, the findings focus most of their attention on the gravest terror problem: Osama bin Laden’s al-Qaida network.

Glick: Iran and its client state

Ahmadinejad and Khomeini

Those of us who have studied this problem for any length of time fully understand by now that there will never be peace in the Middle East as long as Islam is hellbent on the destruction of Jews and ‘unbelievers’. Ahmadinejad has told us over and over that he wants to liquidate Israel, but that’s just not good enough for the West. We have to get a kick in the gut, a bash in the teeth. We basically will end up playing the victim again, worse than 9-11, because our leaders are so afraid of reprisals, loss of face with Arab oil-producing states and the biggest fear of all: not getting re-elected.

Fjordman: Is Islam Compatible With Democracy?

Excellent, must-read article that has been reposted today on Global Politician, but originally was pressed over on Gates of Vienna. Fjordman does a great job of refuting the idea that Islam can coexist with Democracy. Here are a couple of teasers and links to parts one and two. Please read it all:

Is Islam Compatible With Democracy? Part I

“I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Therefore strike off their heads and strike off every fingertip of them.” — The Koran, 8.12

“Allah’s Apostle said, ‘I have been made victorious with terror (cast in the hearts of the enemy)’” — Hadith of Bukhari, Volume 4, Book 52, Number 220

“He who strikes terror into others is himself in continual fear.” — Claudian, Roman poet

Occasionally I get annoyed over the fact that I am compelled to spend significant amounts of my time refuting Islam, an ideology that is flawed to the core and should be totally irrelevant in the 21st century. But then I try to see it from a positive angle: The good part about our confrontation with Islam is that it forces us to deal with flaws in our own civilization. It has already exposed a massive failure in our education system and our media, both filled with anti-Western sentiments and ideological nonsense. These legacies from the Western Cultural Revolution of the 1960s and 70s have left us unable to recognize the Islamic threat for what it is. Thus, when we are confronted now with the question of whether or not Islam is compatible with democracy, we also have to ask under what conditions a democratic system is able to function.

Is Islam Compatible With Democracy? Part II

According to Salim Mansur, associate professor of political science at the University of Western Ontario, Canada, “Democracy is in a cultural sense an expression of the liberal modern world that situates the individual as the moral center of politics and society. (…) It is the idea of the inalienable rights located in the individual, rights that need to be protected, nurtured, and allowed the fullest unhindered expression that makes democracy so morally distinctive from other cultural systems. From this liberal perspective, the common error about democracy is to view it as a majority system of governance. In a democracy based on individual rights, on the contrary, it is the protection of the rights of minorities and dissidents that reflect the different nature of politics within the larger context of democratic culture.”
This definition is opposed to an illiberal democracy, which is “similar to what Samuel E. Finer, a professor of politics and government, wrote about in Comparative Government as ‘façade democracy,’ a bowing of the head to the idea of democracy by the tiny elite of those in power as a means to enhance their legitimacy and perpetuate their authority.”

One great obstacle to establishing democracy in this cultural sense in Muslim countries is that Muslims have been taught from birth that non-Muslims can’t be expected to enjoy the same kind of rights as Muslims do.

And work continues here on the Anvil on my own ‘Refuting Islam’ multimedia series. Don’t be surprised if I reference some elements from the above article along the way at some point, either by coincidence or by design. I should have the second part of ‘Refuting Islam’ ready in May. The focus will be on the chapter Women.

In your heart, you know I’m right.

My responses to these reader comments form the editorial for today. First I’ll repost a bit of the thread in question to give you proper context, followed by my thoughts. Reader Gramfan posted these worthy observations:

I think it is also important to use MSM ‘blog sites. Most papers have them now and from what I have read I have observed some things:

1. Most people that post are aware that PC and multi-culturalism are doing us a lot of harm, meaning they can see the affect of islam on our communities.

2. They are learning a lot about islam: many are familiar with taqquiya and excerpts from the koran.

3. They are beginning to notice that the muslim posters who “seem” to be nice and friendly do nothing but knock Christianity, knock Judaism, knock the US and any right-wing governments,,,not to mention their views on Israel.

I see muslim posters re-writing history daily. It is unbelievable. They are using “divide and conquer” strategies on us.

4. They are observing how muslim posters “argue”.

I am beginning to wonder if one of the first posts I read on Jihadwatch was correct.
It was from the UK. It is obvious Blair has blood on his hands re the British people. Someone said it is just a matter of time till there is a civil war.

This sounds unthinkable I know, but how long are people going to take this? Or is it just people like myself, and other baby-boomers, who can see what is at stake here?

I am going to keep doing what I am doing. The answers will come if we keep our goals clear. And hopefully a leader will also emerge.

Yes, indeed, I do believe not only is there a civil war brewing in Europe, I think it is not unlikely to occur here in the United States. I’ve said so a few times in various ways, but one of the primary reasons that I relocated my own life some years back (and yes, after I’d already discovered Jihad Watch), was to position myself in the best strategic spot to weather any coming storm — literally. I’m hardly alone in thinking that civil war is coming. Some of the brightest minds around agree. In fact, I have a book on my shelf that I’m about to get to by Orson Scott Card that deals with the fictional upheaval and eventual division that very well might hit the USA: Empire.

I’m sure that more than a few people that know me believe I’m crazy, because it’s far easier to want to believe that, than to believe my message. This is also why Generation X is asleep at the wheel — they’ve bought into the “love everyone until they hate you” mentality of the Far Left, the Gay/Lesbian Coalitions, the ACLU, the Feminazis, and groups that exploit them for entirely different goals like CAIR, the Muslim Brotherhood, etc.

Who the hell doesn’t hate war? Leftists act as if they are the only people that abhor war, but in fact, soldiers that have been to war hate it far more than anyone — and yet they are willing and ready to fight and die to protect us, and yes even the Rosie O’Donnells of the world, too. Why is that?

It’s because hating war doesn’t mean war isn’t necessary.

None of us would be here today if it were not for the good deeds and wars fought by men and women from throughout history who were willing to take up arms and stand for something greater than themselves individually. But today, we are being attacked by people on one side that only care about the individual to an extreme (the Far Left), and on the other side by people who care not one iota about the invidividual (the Islamofascists) — and that’s why they are in league with each other — because they have the same common enemy: Free People of Common Sense and Western Values.

Do we live in houses without walls? Of course not. And why is that? Because everyone needs boundaries. Every great nation deserves its sovereignty. There is no more reason for the United States of America, Australia, New Zealand, Britain, Canada, et al, to give up our ideals to appease zealots that are bent on world domination in the name of a false religion, and yes I’ll say it, a false god. Because I have absolutely no qualms about stating that Islam is a lie, that the supposed words of Muhammad that were scribed in Arabia did not come from God, and that the only evidence we could require to know that for sure is to compare his deeds to those of any other great prophets from all-time. Muhammad was a monster, and his legacy is the most monstrous cult in the history of humanity.

And these are demons that are now being smoothly shoveled down our throats by snake-charmers in places like Dearborn, Michigan. And the message is perpetuated by tiny brains like Nancy Pelosi. People of massive ambition like her are perfect tools for the Islamists. Again, just like Chamberlain before her, she’s making the classic errors — “the road to peace is through Damascus” — and it is doing nothing but weakening the West and preparing us for our own downfall.

Indeed, words will not suffice forever. That is one of the primary points of my blog and probably my greatest subtext. Eventually we are going to be pushed into a corner because of the weaklings that are currently leading our nations. There are a handful of superstars that are keeping us all afloat right now, but we need to bring in new leaders with greater understanding of this conflict and actually start making changes. We need a Churchill, or two or three. We need fearless bastards like Patton, and crafty, honorable warriors like Rommel, and a political animal like Machiavelli, not more sycophants and more unwise schemers and greedy lobbyists. And certainly not more lawyers!

This week I will turn 40 years old. I’m in the unique position in my “old” life to see the changes necessary for the United States and the world, having enough life experience to have attained an ounce of wisdom, and at the same time, I’m “young” enough to have the energy to fight hard, stand up to anyone and make trouble for my enemies and ours. For some reason I’m convinced that this is not just happenstance. And so, I will continue to labor here on the Anvil and to fill my head with as much information as it can stand before it pops like a balloon. I will dig my feet in and not budge when I am confronted by more and more ignorance and lies and hate and fear. (Yes, I will even survive email spam.)

Perhaps these things are perceived as easy to say, but I have always lead by example in my life, unlike too many around me, and I mean every damn word of it. If I’m ever presented the opportunity to bend the ears of our leaders in private conversation, I will. If I have to fight to preserve my own life from assassins, I’ll do my best then, too. The simple fact is, I’ve decided to fight the fight, not just sit idly by and do nothing — and that is exactly how we can still win this war with Islam. If everyone owns the battle, the battle can be won. Just as was done in World War II and later during the long Cold War. We engaged the enemy, we had the greater will, we fought united and we prevailed.

Nothing less than the audacity of collective free thought and the strength of collective will can save us now from the multicultural seditionists that eat away at us from within and the Islamofascists that assail us from without. If we do not decide to do something about these enemies, then it will be over, civil wars will occur as the last gasps of the West are heard, and the worst crimes imaginable will be levied against our way of life.

Now, the urge to pen my thoughts has lead me to this point again on another Sunday morning, and I think I’ve said enough for one day or many, for that matter, and it’s again up to my readers to decide: “Is he crazy?” or “Is he aware?”

In the immortal words from the losing 1964 Presidential campaign of Barry Goldwater, former Republican Senator from Arizona: “In your heart, you know he’s right.”

Will this be another losing “campaign”, despite being right? That’s up to you, gentle readers.

Islamist Hate Film Given PG Rating in Australia

Hate monger Sheik Feiz Mohammed

From Australia’s Herald Sun (hat tip: Gramfan), yet more proof of Western double-standards that are eroding our way of life. Sheik Feiz Mohammed has already been heard from on the Anvil before, and if you want to sample some of his DVD box set, you can listen in my Multimedia section right now. And I have to say, the term firebrand is becoming quite cliché. Ugh.

A PRO-TERROR hate film that urges children to martyr themselves in a war of Islam versus the West and calls Jews “pigs” has been given a PG rating by Australia’s censors.

Zarqawi was just one monster

While I am happy that the man behind the Nick Berg beheading and other attrocities is now dead, I find the entire affair to be too little, too late.

I’m going to say this clearly: don’t get too happy about it. Just like some government officials are warning on terms of anonymity, I would say that the threat level of a new attack upon the United States was high before this hunting down of Zarqawi, and now that he’s dead, it is even higher.

An Important Point

A recent posting on Jihad Watch by Robert Spencer puts an idea into clear perspective that is not talked about nearly enough: the fact that until followers of Islam, especially those with American citizenship, actively speak-out and act-out against terror, there is no reason to pretend that we are not at war with Islam itself. After all, despite the best efforts of the American government to prove otherwise, Islamists will always say the United States has declared war on Islam because it gives energy to the waves of Islamic terrorists across the globe to somehow make them feel like victims of the “Imperialists.”

Proof of Saddam’s Terrorist Connections

cover

I almost couldn’t believe my own eyes last night as I was watching a new DVD from National Geographic: Inside Special Forces. It was proof positive that Saddam Hussein was in the terror game — a “terror house” is shown to one of our elite Special Forces units by friendly Iraqi civilians, but the civilians were not even aware of what exactly was behind the locked gates and doors of the compound. Whatever had been going on in the building had drawn plenty of attention from the locals though, that much was obvious. Joint Al Qaeda and Iraqi Secret Service activities perhaps.

Americans Warned Against Bahrain Travel

Serious terror warning issued by Pentagon for all nonessential personnel to leave the Persian Gulf state of Bahrain.

“The threat of terrorism is very real,” State Department spokesman Adam Ereli said Friday. “We are working with the (Bahraini) government.”

Roughly 80 families of U.S. military personnel live in Bahrain, military officials said. They will be brought to unspecified locations in the continental United States, the Pentagon statement said. They will not be allowed to return to Bahrain until the mandatory withdrawal order is terminated.
