Man on FBI terrorism watch list reported for taking photos of bridge is released

I have done quite a bit of interstate travel in my time. I have never, ever had any reason to stop to take photographs of an interstate bridge. Could be because there’s rarely anything aesthetically pleasing about interstate bridges; dirty ugly cement, flat roadway, no adornments and a few pillar supports.

Himelfarb: Koranic Law Coming to America?

'Islam will dominate the world'
Here is an excellent editorial by Joel Himelfarb of Family Security Matters, which strongly reiterates many of the points I have made here on the Anvil in recent months, especially about the dire domestic threats to the United States from Islamist political moves and incursions into our educational institutions, as well as the unwitting alliance between moonbat journalists and Muslims (thanks to Sheila):

In the early days of Communism in the Soviet Union, V.I. Lenin coined the term “useful idiots” to describe people nominally hostile to Marxism who could be tricked into engaging in commercial or other activities (like promoting disinformation through the media) that help the Communist side.

The Threat Worse than Islamic Terrorism

American born Muslim educator Susan Douglass
Just the other day I was discussing the growing Islamist threat with a member of my own clan, and as usual, I touched on the points that the worst threats do not even come from Islamic terrorism. Surprised? Don’t be. The worst threats to our way of life as Westerners come from subversive means both overt and covert. Examples of this include groups like CAIR and its continued manipulation of U.S. law to perpetuate an Islamic agenda, intimidate the average American citizen with lawsuits, influence educators and lobby powers in the Capitol.

The longterm goal is quite simple really: re-establish the Caliphate worldwide. From the Middle East Forum is a brief explanation:

Islamists ultimately seek hegemonic control via a worldwide caliphate that applies the Islamic law in full. Afghanistan under the Taliban offers one model of what they would establish globally.

Terrorism is one method to advance these projects but it is not the only one. Indeed, the activities of nonviolent Islamists arguably will prove a more effective tactic in the long term. For while the public intuitively understands the threat of terrorism and is mobilized by it, and while states have well-developed institutions (law enforcement, intelligence agencies, the military, the justice system) to protect and fight against it, the activities of nonviolent extremists are not alarming and institutions do not exist to deal with this problem. And how can terrorists impose their will on whole societies?

The Threat of Lawful Islamism

In a brief article I wrote a little more than 3 months back, ‘The Strategy of the Global Jihad’, I quickly broke down what I believed to be many of the longterm goals and means of the Islamists worldwide. This was #8:

‘Revert’ first the lowliest elements in Western nations like their criminals and ill-educated, then once the ‘culture of fear’ sets in, perpetuate further ‘reversions’ to Islam through political overtures like those used by Ahmadinejad in his letters. Use college campuses, too, and prey upon the young, liberal idealists who are especially ignorant of the teachings of the Qur’an but will quickly drink up the fight for the ‘enlightened barbarians’ from the Middle East.

If you’ve paid attention to articles posted here on the Anvil ever since that point, I have been proven correct already more than a half-dozen times. Every so often an actual Islamic “revert” even comments here on the Anvil (i.e. Farmer Billy Bob). I can not even begin to describe the loathing, disgust and pity I feel for Westerners that convert to Islam, but I will continue to allow them to comment here to make example of them.

Here then I present you with a very good outline also from ‘Islamist Watch’ at the Middle East Forum. This breaks down extremely well the methods that are already in the Islamist playbook:

That’s quite a breakdown don’t you think? Daniel Pipes and his people know their stuff.

I can’t ever warn people enough about this manifestation of Islamic power right under our own noses. It’s everywhere. From street signs to Islamic educational facilities to CAIR offices to our own government, the Islamists are like ticks on a sleeping dog.

There are many things we can do to curtail this invasion of our society by Shariah Law purveyors and the most important is to keep them out of our schools. Attend your PTA meetings. Talk to your kids and other parents. Ask them if anyone has ever been approached with Islamist materials or asked to convert. Find out if any groups like CAIR or perhaps a local mosque have ever talked with school officials in your area or been on school grounds for one reason or another. Investigate any ‘Muslim Clubs’ that might have been formed at your local schools. You’d be amazed at how many universities in the United States have sororities and fraternities now dedicated to Islam. This in itself is a travesty in my opinion, but our hands are currently tied by the First Amendment:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Here is what I one day hope to see the First Amendment revised to actually state:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof, so long as that religion does not have as part of its tenets the goal, either expressed or implied, of overturning the laws and government protected herein or threatening the well-being of United States citizens. Congress shall not abridge freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

It is imperative that we as a nation in the United States, if not the entire Western world, have the courage to make such an amendment to our own Constitution. And beyond that I believe this will allow the open discussion and eventual implementation of a much more stinging and preserving mandate of outlawing Islam from the shores of the U.S. entirely.

And so now I come to the following new article from Family Security Matters, Adrian Morgan, ‘The Shock of Islamic Indoctrination in American Classrooms’:

The First Amendment to the US federal constitution was written in 1789, and was ratified by the States in 1791. It states: “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.”

The interpretation of the First Amendment and in particular its first clause, referred to as the “Establishment of Religion” or “Establishment” clause, has a direct bearing on how federally- funded public schools can teach religion. Alan Brownstein, a constitutional law expert from the University of California at Davis’ School of Law states: “From a constitutional perspective, schools can’t teach the truth or falsity of religious belief, and atheism would fall in that parameter.”

Public schools can teach about religions, but can neither denigrate one religion nor promote another. When 9/11 happened, children were confronted with the spectacle of Muslim terrorism on their TV screens. Sadly, for children growing up in America, their understanding of why Islamic terrorism takes place is not likely to be explained at school. There are “problematic” verses in the Koran, advocating violence against “unbelievers”. These include Sura 8:12: “I am with you: give firmness to the Believers: I will instill terror into the hearts of the Unbelievers: smite ye above their necks and smite all their finger-tips off them.”

Sura 3:151 states: “Soon shall We cast terror into the hearts of the Unbelievers, for that they joined companions with Allah, for which He had sent no authority: their abode will be the Fire: And evil is the home of the wrong-doers!” Sura 9:25 declares: “But when the forbidden months are past, then fight and slay the Pagans wherever ye find them, and seize them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem (of war); but if they repent, and establish regular prayers and practice regular charity, then open the way for them: for Allah is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful.”

Sura 9:29 states: “Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued.” (Jizya was a tax which non-Muslims had to pay to their Muslim overlords).

The First Amendment was originally designed to prevent the conflicts which (Christian) religion had caused in Europe. Now, it is being employed by the politically correct to present an anodyne and inaccurate portrayal of Islam in US public schools. Sura 4:34 specifically states that a husband has the right to beat his wife if she is not submissive. Problematic Suras such as this are not likely to even be mentioned in public schools, for fear of being seen to break the terms of the First Amendment by “denigrating” Islam.

Already schools in America are being taken to task by Muslim activists who perceive that their religion is not treated with enough “respect”. In December 2006 Baltimore County School Board in Maryland was accused of inaccuracy in its teaching of Islam. The claim was made by Bash Pharoan, who is president of the local American Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee and head of Baltimore County Muslim Council.

Yes, you just read that correctly. Islam is being taught about in our schools. But the “bad parts” are being left out. How convenient. It is this kind of insanity that is leading to incidents like the recent ‘Burqa Blowout’ that occurred at Bacon Academy in Connecticut and even ended up having rumblings right here on the Anvil. Our children are being brainwashed into actually taking up the torch for the ‘downtrodden and enlightened barbarians’ of Islam. And this is all post 9-11! And that incident of having American students dress-up in Islamic clothing is not an isolated one:

The issue of how Islam is taught in schools has become a political hot potato. In California one school, the Excelsior Elementary, took its teaching of Islam to seventh graders to extremes. School pupils were made to dress up in Islamic clothing, to memorize Koranic verses and even to fast during their lunch hour to mimic Muslim behavior during Ramadan. The Five Pillars of Islam were to be learned, pupils were encouraged to say “Allahu Ackbar” and using dice, the children played a “jihad game”. The materials employed at the school stated: “From the beginning, you and your classmates will become Muslims.”

And Adrian Morgan goes on to make this very important point, echoing my own:

Parents should make themselves aware of what their children are being taught about Islam in school. Demand to see study sheets. Demand a list of approved textbooks, and check these out in your local library. Talk to teachers, principals, or write to your local school board. If you think your child is being indoctrinated, write to your Congress representative. You have a Constitution which prevents religious indoctrination by government bodies. For this privilege you should feel fortunate.

You should read her entire article for greater detail and look forward to Part Two of her series.

I know I beat a dead horse here on the Anvil, but certainly you can see why this is necessary by now. The enemy is here and they are thriving. And if the impressionable minds of our own children are open to them, then we had better wake up fast and put a stop to it or we will discard not only our rights but their futures. What is a greater responsibility than to protect your own children? I can’t think of any.

Religious indoctrination into Islam can not be tolerated. Our ‘politically correct’ and ‘multicultural’ nation needs to learn to say ‘NO’ to what we must in our guts understand to be the antithesis of all that the United States stands for. Islam is a theocratic ideology of hate. We can not continue to stand up for its ‘rights’ at the cost of our own.

The Constitution is not a suicide pact.

World terrorism attacks kill 14,600 in ‘05 (Terrorism?)

Do you not find it absolutely incredible that numbers like this can be attributed to “terrorism” and not whatever is giving birth to this terror? It seems that the world stage is controlled by media tycoons that do not want to risk talking turkey and leaders that do not trust their own citizens enough to give them the truth.

UAE company to help oversee six ports in U.S.

This needs to be stopped cold. From an AP report today:

WASHINGTON - A company in the United Arab Emirates is poised to take over significant operations at six American ports as part of a corporate sale, leaving a country with ties to the Sept. 11 hijackers with influence over a maritime industry considered vulnerable to terrorism.

The Bush administration considers the UAE an important ally in the fight against terrorism since the suicide hijackings and is not objecting to Dubai Ports World’s purchase of London-based Peninsular and Oriental Steam Navigation Co.

Terrorists Turn to the Web as Base of Operations

From the Washington Post:

By Steve Coll and Susan B. Glasser
Washington Post Staff Writers
Sunday, August 7, 2005; Page A01

In the snow-draped mountains near Jalalabad in November 2001, as the Taliban collapsed and al Qaeda lost its Afghan sanctuary, Osama bin Laden biographer Hamid Mir watched “every second al Qaeda member carrying a laptop computer along with a Kalashnikov” as they prepared to scatter into hiding and exile. On the screens were photographs of Sept. 11 hijacker Mohamed Atta.

Hang Al-Sadr

Once again, clear thinking coming from the secular American-Muslims behind FMCAT:

The Free Muslim Coalition Against Terrorism urges Arab and Muslim leaders to provide moral support to the new Iraqi government in its bid to defeat Muqtada al-Sadr and his Mehdi Army.

It has been more than a year since the invasion of Iraq. Some were for the war and some were against the war. However, continuing to argue about whether the war was justified is now moot and not constructive. No matter what is one’s view about the invasion of Iraq, the Arab and Muslim world must now agree that a stable, prosperous Iraq is in everyone’s best interest.

Islamist Takeovers a Real Threat, 9/11 Panelist says

From the Washington Times:

The threat of Islamist extremists taking over Pakistan or Saudi Arabia is real and could “fundamentally change the balance of security in the world,” September 11 commission member John F. Lehman said yesterday.

How the United States treats the delicate balance of pro-American governments and radical Muslim forces in those two nations is critical to the success of U.S. strategy on terrorism, Mr. Lehman said during a meeting with reporters at The Washington Times.

Terrorist Plot Believed Thwarted in Montreal

A Toronto Star article reveals news that a terrorist plot has been stopped in Canada. Well, it’s good to know not everyone over that northern border is ignoring the problem. After I saw interviews with an Al Qaeda family in Toronto on Frontline a few weeks ago, I was pretty disappointed in Canada’s efforts.

MONTREAL - Customs officials at the Port of Montreal believe they have derailed a terrorist plot to export chemical weapons, the TVA network reported today.

Americans Warned Against Bahrain Travel

Serious terror warning issued by Pentagon for all nonessential personnel to leave the Persian Gulf state of Bahrain.

“The threat of terrorism is very real,” State Department spokesman Adam Ereli said Friday. “We are working with the (Bahraini) government.”

Roughly 80 families of U.S. military personnel live in Bahrain, military officials said. They will be brought to unspecified locations in the continental United States, the Pentagon statement said. They will not be allowed to return to Bahrain until the mandatory withdrawal order is terminated.
