I urge you to read this insightful and sad article in its entirety. Bill Sardi relates what a troubled nation we now call home in the USA:
0 CommentsLife is suddenly changing in America.
It’s 8:30 AM. I’m getting my 5-year-old son in the car to take him to preschool. I have to drive him down backstreets to school because the police are handing out traffic citations on the main drag, in the wake of downturns in public tax receipts. My son asks why? I tell him the truth. We are avoiding the police on their motorcycles.
I will be attending this today. If you’re close enough to Austin, TX, why not come and join your fellow Texans. Believe me, you won’t be alone:

9-11. Patriot Act. Body scanners. Frisking 8 year old cub scouts. No, I’m not kidding. From the New York Times:
0 CommentsThe Transportation Security Administration, under scrutiny after last month’s bombing attempt, has on its Web site a “mythbuster” that tries to reassure the public.
Myth: The No-Fly list includes an 8-year-old boy.
Buster: No 8-year-old is on a T.S.A. watch list.
“Meet Mikey Hicks,” said Najlah Feanny Hicks, introducing her 8-year-old son, a New Jersey Cub Scout and frequent traveler who has seldom boarded a plane without a hassle because he shares the name of a suspicious person. “It’s not a myth.”
Just the other day I read the David Brooks op-ed piece described in the following article. It was offensive, sad and hilarious. This “educated class” idea is a banal joke. I’ve attended enough Tea Party events to know that David Brooks was talking out of his ass as he described the stereotypical Tea Party participant. David, my old man went to Yale, if you must know. I’m a Mensa member myself, daddy-o. That’s odd isn’t it: I don’t fit your stereotype of a Tea Partier at all, Mr. Brooks. In fact, I fit the profile of…wait for it…wait for it…the “educated class”! Well, damn, David. What d’ya know about that!

From Chris Hedges @ Truthdig.com, the goods on some of the most powerful banksters:
0 CommentsCorporations, which control the levers of power in government and finance, promote and empower the psychologically maimed. Those who lack the capacity for empathy and who embrace the goals of the corporation—personal power and wealth—as the highest good succeed. Those who possess moral autonomy and individuality do not. And these corporate heads, isolated from the mass of Americans by insular corporate structures and vast personal fortunes, are no more attuned to the misery, rage and pain they cause than were the courtiers and perfumed fops who populated Versailles on the eve of the French Revolution. They play their games of high finance as if the rest of us do not exist. And it is a game that will kill us.

From Senatorial candidate, Libertarian and economics expert Peter Schiff comes an article that should toss some water on you after the “orgy” that was the previous decade. By comparison, Mr. Schiff soberly warns us all that the good times are rolling down the hill over the other side:

I’ve now contributed to two major campaigns that are based on Libertarian ideals: Dr. Rand Paul and economist Peter Schiff. Both candidates are running as Republicans, the logical choice in today’s United States and the political environment. Though the Republican party is rife with lobby-tainted representatives, it is still the party most likely to rise up and replace the current Democratic majority when the People show up in force at the polls this year. The more Libertarian-minded candidates we have running, either separately or as Republicans, the better.

Let me make one point as simply and succinctly as I can: Islam by its misogynistic nature breeds aggressive behavior and the religion/cult is a political system, a way of life. There’s no need to “profile” Muslims since they are all capable of doing things in the name of Allah that we won’t be happy with. So, why is it that no concrete steps were taken after 9-11 to address this simple fact in a broader way, like protecting our borders?

Again from Infowars.com, a reality-check:
0 CommentsIt’s a pity. News Hounds usually pegs Fox News pretty accurately. But the blog has slipped lately. For instance, a post today accuses the corporate media leviathan of hating Obama more than al-Qaeda.
“Those America lovers over at Fox Nation are so obsessed with ginning up hatred for President Obama, there’s not much room for focusing on what Al Qaeda is up to. They’re whom I would consider the real enemies of America. But judging from the top stories and the comments, the residents of Fox Nation — readers and writers – seem to think that the real enemy is our president. Many of the comments even say so,” writes Ellen.
From an article within an article called Progressive Professor Trashes Obama, David Michael Green, a professor of political science at Hofstra University in New York, does a full body slam on Barack Obama and then backs his car over him. Figuratively, of course.
What is very interesting about this lengthy grilling, besides the fact that Professor Green is a Progressive Liberal in his own right giving this beat-down to another supposed liberal, is that with the answer staring us all in the face conclusions can’t seem to be made. There are a lot of questions asked by Professor Green, who just seems very confused by it all, after all.
