My friends, I am alive and well. However, the Anvil has been the victim of a barrage of hacking since March and I have reached a point where I do not know if I will be able to contend with it for much longer. Bots are automatically sniffing my site and looking for any vulnerabilities 24/7. The ‘Let Them Eat Cake’ article was yet another instance of hacking — this time not bringing down my databases, but somehow inserting code that managed to close comments and remove the body of text from the article itself.

We still run this country, at least for a few more years. But if the powers-that-be continue to have their way, your children, Mr. and Mrs. Average American, won’t even recognize it by the time we’re old and gray, and they’ll be too busy working to ever enjoy its former bounty, travel across it to visit Disney World or raise their own kids in it at all. Time to start letting our representatives know that we’re not taking this sitting down.
